ADULT SNACK BOARDS
Lunch is a meal that many of my clients struggle with when we start working together. It’s a meal that can easily be skipped and replaced with snacking all afternoon and eating more than you realize.
A big reason for this struggle is not knowing what to eat and not being prepared with the right foods. So many of us have breakfast down pat but when it comes to lunch, we’re at a loss and go for what’s easy and available.
Enter: The Adult Snack Board
If you’ve ever been to a Starbucks and had one of their protein boxes, then you get the gist of these snack boards. It takes away the need to cook or do much prep work other than having the foods available. You can also customize these to your liking and based off what’s in your kitchen.
A few things you want to keep in mind to ensure your choices don’t defeat the purpose of creating a snack board:
Protein, protein protein- it’s so important to incorporate protein, but this is where many people get tripped up. I’ll share some great ideas below.
Fiber- fruit, veggies, seeds- it’s important to make a portion of your plate full of fiber.
Healthy Fat- oftentimes the protein can also provide the fat, but incorporating a healthy fat like avocado is an easy way to boost the healthiness.
Treat- to help you feel fully satisfied, having a healthy treat can help round-out the meal!
