Healthy Cereal + Granola Options

Cereal is one of those feel-good, super easy, kitchen staples that many of us grew up eating and probably give to our kids as well. Fruity Pebbles, Cinnamon Toast Crunch, Frosted Flakes- all the goodies we know and love. Unfortunately, even the seemingly healthy options like Raisin Bran and Kix have ingredients like brown sugar syrup and processed wheat, and while that’s all good every so often, eating sugary, refined foods first thing in the morning on a regular basis isn’t going to do much good for your body or mind and if you’re trying to make healthier choices, that won’t support it.

That being said, I’m here to close the gap between choosing to either eat all your favorite unhealthy foods or be on a strict diet, because there are simple ways to make healthy changes, and we now have so many healthy options that also taste delicious and allow you have your cake and eat it too… literally ;).

Below are some of my favorite healthy cereal and granola options that you can swap in to take place of your sugary staple. All of these are linked to purchase online, but you can also find them at your grocery store.

  • One Degree Organic Foods- they make cereal and granola, and all of their products are made from gluten-free, sprouted grains, making them easier for your body to digest and absorb. This cereal is sweetened with coconut palm sugar, which doesn’t negatively affect your blood sugar, yet adds the perfect amount of sweetness.

  • Three wishes cereal- this brand has managed to make cereal taste good and be plant-based, grain free (made from chickpeas), low sugar and high protein- which makes it not only a better option, but a HEALTHY one. They have “healthified” a bunch of popular cereals, but it is on the pricier side of cereals, so something to be mindful of.

  • Barbara's cereal- Puffins are our go-to, but this brand also has rice crisp and shredded wheat- all made from whole grains, vegan ingredients and lower sugar that is just sweet enough and easily replaces your old favorites.

  • Love Grown cereal- Gluten-free, plant-based and simple ingredients make this cereal a win for healthy eaters and moms, because it’s just as tasty as it is healthy.

Some bonus options: granola and oatmeal

I hope this makes your morning a little healthier, easier and tastier, one bite at a time!
